3 Essential Items to Pack in the RV for Duck Hunting Season

Duck hunting season is right around the corner! Renting a dependable and accommodating RV from Advantage Caravans ahead of time is a great way to get the family all packed up for a fun and exciting hunting season in Sacramento. From October 20 through January 27, 2020, you can enjoy various hunting locations but, before you head out, you’ll need to remember some important items and gear!

  1. Licenses & Passes
  2. In California, you’ll need to have all of the necessary licenses and passes to hunt in the state. You will find all of the information for proper applications and papers with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. They can also give you guidance for hunting area admission procedures. If you already have your license, make sure to keep it in your RV for the season. If you plan on taking a boat with you, make sure your boating license is up to date and keep it with you while you’re out on the water.

  3. Extra Clothes
  4. Having the right camping gear and clothing is essential for keeping you dry and protected from the elements, especially if you plan on being out in the forests or on the lakes for any length of time. Wearing the right gear can also keep you safe from accidents and it’s highly recommended that you wear reflective gear, waterproof boots, pants and coats, and hands and gloves. These items can be stored in the RV, so you know you’ll always have them for the duration of duck hunting season. You’ll also want to keep some extra clothing for those lounging days when you don’t go out hunting.

  5. Your Ammo and Hunting Gun
  6. What’s a hunting trip without your gun and ammunition? Probably a complete bust. Make sure you don’t forget the most important part of your gear when you’re packing up the motorhome. These items should be kept in a safe, dry place in the camper to avoid accidents or your ammo getting ruined from moisture. If you’re planning a long trip, make sure you have enough supplies to last the entire trip. You should include a flashlight, extra batteries, and your scope, so you can go out at dusk or dawn.

Perhaps the most important part of duck hunting season is making sure you have an RV or travel trailer waiting and ready to go the first weekend you can get away. You’ll enjoy an in-house bathroom and shower, TV, and kitchen in all of our RV rentals. To reserve yours before opening day, contact us today at (916) 832-8824.
