As one of the most grueling endurance races in the world, 25 Hours of Thunderhill is not for the faint of heart. Yet, 2018 was a year for the history books as more female drivers entered the race than ever before! Three teams of all-female drivers entered the race, two of which entered as part of the female collective of motorsports racers called Shift Up Now.
Shift Up Now is a collective of female racers who use motorsports to inspire confidence and courage in women of all ages. Lynn Kehoe, the founder and CEO of Shift Up Now, hosts a variety of motivational talks and leadership programs for young girls. Kehoe’s aim is to get girls interested in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and math) and to provide hands-on leadership training through driving. As a result, she has created a team of incredible motorsports racers!
After a successful year at this iconic race in 2018, Kehoe decided to enter again in 2019. This year, Shift Up Now is partnering with HQ Autosport Racing to form a co-ed team of three women and two men. The team will drive in the very competitive E2 class; HQ Autosports is the defending 2018 NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill Champions in this class. As such, the team expects to demonstrate the best of what motorsports can be when like-minded men and women work together for a common goal.
